Hi,
I had the similar problem. I aliased "mv" to "mv -v" (verbose mode) in my
login shell's profile file. When MakeTeXPK mv'd files around it produced
output which cause MakeTeXPk to fail (see last line of MakeTeXPK).
Aliasing "rm" may do the same. Once I unaliased "mv", xdvi worked fine. I
don't understand why dvipsk doesn't trip up as well.
